An apprenticeship program started in 2007 in partnership with the Pirdop technical school. It provides work-experience opportunities for young people who do not intend to study in higher education. By 2015 nearly 60 students have been through the program and most have found fulltime employment. The apprenticeship program targets qualified young people for a trade and encourages them to live and work in the region.
