Our Approach to Climate Change

We are committed to reducing our absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 37.5% by 2035 and to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Climate Strategy

As a company which has incorporated sustainable development into everything we do from our first days as an operating company, we have established a long track record of actively managing and improving our greenhouse gas emissions and energy use.

The drive for decarbonization has long been a focus for DPM, as we recognize that increasing efficiencies benefit not only our operating performance but also improve our carbon emissions and environmental performance.

A key example of this is how we have improved the efficiency of our Chelopech mine in Bulgaria while also reducing energy consumption. This successfully doubled production at Chelopech, while maintaining the same numbers of machines and people.

However, achieving greater operating efficiency has not been the only driver behind our decarbonization efforts. We believe our company has a responsibility to continuing finding ways of reducing emissions, and we have continued to take several steps towards developing and executing our climate change strategy.

Our Climate Change Commitments

We have developed a company-wide climate strategy that incorporates our growth strategy, capital resources and operational priorities, and that is aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
